The union representing thousands of workers at southwestern Ontario casinos is calling on the province to let them reopen. Unifor Local 444 President Dave Cassidy wants to see the casinos — particularly Caesars Windsor — open under the same sound public health protocols that have guided other reopening’s during the COVID-19 pandemic. Choctaw Casinos & Resorts Announces Plans to Re-open With New Heightened Safety and Health Measures May 19, 2020 DURANT, Okla. (May 19, 2020) The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma announced last week all Choctaw casino locations plan to resume operations on June 1 with increased health and safety measures. Oaks Card Club in Emeryville is closed, as is Parkwest Casino 580 in Livermore. San Pablo Lytton Casino is allowing machine gaming, but neither card games nor dining are expected to return anytime.
Arrival and Departure. Upon arrival, Artesian property personnel will greet and take each guest’s temperature and complete a screening process. All guests are required to wear a mask while in the hotel’s common areas. Guests are asked to follow any related instructions including the use of queue lines to allow for six feet between guests in line, reduced elevator carriage guidelines and the use of hand sanitizer frequently. Social distancing measures are in place throughout the property.
Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting Services. Hotel-wide cleaning and disinfecting procedures extend to all areas of hotel operations. All linens and employee uniforms are cleaned in accordance with CDC guidelines. Daily in-room housekeeping services during a guest’s stay have been suspended. Rooms will be deep cleaned before and after each guest’s arrival and departure.
Operational Closures and Modifications. Valet service is suspended until further notice. The hotel’s pool and bath house are open with limited occupancy. The fitness center is open with limited occupancy. The hotel’s business center is by request only at this time with limited occupancy. Elevator occupancy is limited to four people per carriage. At this time, we are not offering complimentary beverages in the lobby.

Hotel Frequently Asked Questions
Hotel occupancy is not restricted due to the ability for social distancing in individual hotel rooms. Measures have been implemented in hotel common areas that are to be followed while visiting The Artesian Hotel, Casino & Spa. Additional measures are in place at the property’s casino and all hotel guests who choose to visit the casino must comply with those measures.
Sole’renity Spa is open Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and by appointment only Sunday – Monday and Wednesday – Friday. Please call 580-622-8128 with questions or to book.
Bell staff will continue to deliver and retrieve guest luggage upon request, and guest bags will be sanitized before placement in the bell closet. Bell staff will utilize a different elevator and maintain appropriate social distance from guests during delivery or retrieval of luggage. Bell carts will be sanitized properly between each use.
